What the official sources do say:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Around <strong>1.4 billion people<\/strong> from about 60 visa-free countries are eligible to travel to the EU without a visa &mdash; the pool ETIAS will screen (Frontex).<\/li>\n<li><strong>59 visa-exempt nationalities<\/strong> will need an ETIAS authorisation to visit <strong>30 European countries<\/strong> (Frontex).<\/li>\n<li>About <strong>97% of applications<\/strong> are expected to be approved automatically within minutes; roughly 3% will be reviewed manually (Frontex).<\/li>\n<li>The EES &mdash; the entry\/exit database ETIAS plugs into &mdash; registered <strong>over 45 million border crossings<\/strong> between its start on 12 October 2025 and late March 2026, and more than <strong>24,000 people were refused entry<\/strong> in that period (European Commission, 30 March 2026).<\/li>\n<li>As a real-world yardstick from a comparable scheme: the UK&rsquo;s ETA issued <strong>25,088,952 authorisations<\/strong> in the year ending March 2026 (UK Home Office).
